Discover Matna Sikdang

The moment you step into Matna Sikdang, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The interior is cozy, with a simple yet inviting design that makes you feel comfortable enough to sit down and enjoy your meal at your own pace. Whether you're a local or a tourist exploring the area, this place manages to strike that perfect balance between authenticity and approachability.

The menu at Matna Sikdang is a real treat, focusing on fresh ingredients and local specialties that highlight the unique flavors of Jeju. A standout on the menu is their Jeju black pork dishes. Jeju is famous for its premium black pork, and Matna Sikdang does it justice. Their black pork BBQ is tender, smoky, and bursting with flavor. The meat is grilled to perfection, offering a satisfying bite that will have you coming back for more.

Another dish worth mentioning is the seafood hotpot, which is packed with a variety of fresh, seasonal ingredients like shrimp, clams, and Jeju’s own unique seafood. It's the kind of dish that is perfect for sharing, and the broth is rich and full of depth, making each spoonful feel like a comforting hug. The balance of flavors here is impressive, and it truly represents the heart of Jeju’s coastal cuisine.

If you're not in the mood for heavy meals, don’t worry-Matna Sikdang also offers lighter options like kimchi stews and bibimbap. These are flavorful yet not too heavy, making them a great choice for anyone looking for a more relaxed meal. The kimchi stew is tangy with just the right amount of spice, and it pairs wonderfully with a bowl of steamed rice.

The service at Matna Sikdang is friendly and efficient. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu, and they’re always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you’re looking for something savory or more on the lighter side, they’re quick to suggest dishes that suit your taste. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for them.

What really sets Matna Sikdang apart, however, is its authenticity. The owners have a deep passion for Jeju’s food culture, and this passion comes through in every dish they serve. The ingredients are sourced locally, and the recipes have been passed down through generations, making every meal feel like it’s prepared with love and care.

Reviews from visitors highlight the restaurant's consistent quality and genuine atmosphere. Many have commented on how the food feels like a true reflection of Jeju's culinary culture, making it a must-visit for anyone serious about trying local delicacies. And for those who may be wondering about prices, Matna Sikdang is reasonably priced, offering great value for the generous portions and high-quality ingredients.

  • Do come early after touring the nearby seongsan ilchulbong to take a queue number! Came at 9am and gt a queue ticket for 11am. Menu wise dont need to choose if yr 2 or more they will serve the mackerel + cutlass set. The cutlass fish was so so sooooo darn good!! Mackerel has lesser bones and nt exactly my kind of fish but still nice. Not exactly a fish eater but this is super highly recommended for local feel and BEST fish in Jeju.

  • If you like fish, this is definitely the place not to be missed. Cutlass fish can have alot of tiny bones so one has to be mindful when eating them. I ordered mix fishes, loved both. The sauce is the bomb, not overly spicy yet so flavourful. Foreigner like myself will find it a challenge to get a table as there's no queue line for no reservation. Just walk in and talk to the lady at the counter. She took my order and have me prepaid, gave me a time to come back. Pretty easy and need not wait aimlessly outside.

  • Very nice Hairtail dish! Very popular among local and queue is often expected.

  • Broth was like kimchi, yet sweet not spicy Both types of fish were soft and nicely cooked Like others before me commented, go straight to counter to inform them, don't join queue blindly

  • We got there around 11:30, checked in, and left our number. They told us it’d be about an hour wait, and right on time, we got a call around 12:30 and were seated. The food honestly felt like comfort food—like a home-cooked meal your mom would make. Super satisfying and really tasty. There’s a public parking lot right in front of the place, which made things super easy. I’d totally come back again. Also loved how friendly the owner was—none of that cold, too-busy attitude you sometimes get at popular spots. Just genuinely nice vibes all around.

  • we were having problem finding this place and apparently the problem was that the signboard color has turned pale over time and we were searching for blue color signboard as we saw from the picture posted here some times ago. there is a car park (at 2 o'clock coming out from the restaurant) not far from this restaurant and i believe it was free as no booth was there to collect money. we ordered mixed braised mackerel and cutlassfish. they were fresh and tasted good in unique korean style. many local koreans were there and we have to wait for like 20 minutes for a table. the restaurant is actually quite small and old but nicely maintained. when came to ordering, we were not allowed to order for 2 portions of serving because we were 4 persons. the owner insisted that we must order according to the number of person we have. we couldn't finish the fish but luckily we were allowed to take away the leftover.
